Pierre Leclercq talks us through the design ideas behind the BMW X6 Concept.
With some characteristic sketches he captures the emotions that defined the shape of the first Sports Activity Coupe... in his own words: "lines that come from the heart". Pierre explain us how the new concept skillfully combines athletic aesthetics of a true sports car with the versatility and the higher seating position of an SAV.
Hearing Pierre say "itīs a real sports car" and "thereīs nothing like this on the market right now" reflects the designerīs lasting fascination with his most exciting project so far for BMW.

Chris Bangle explains the thinking behind a new BMW concept vehicle that will be unveiled at the IAA - the BMW Concept X6. Merging the athletic aesthetics of a true sports car with the versatility of an SAV resulted in a new vehicle category that so far has not been realised. Although BMW is moving into new terrain, Chris Bangleīs statement "a good concept realizes itself in a short amount of time" suggests a series production car might be not too far away...
